Deacon Alendro Da Costa as the new Vice Principal of St. Paul’s High School, St. Paul’s Sunbeam Nursery, St. Paul’s Jesuit School ICSE and INIGO Play School at Belagavi.
Deacon Alendro Da Costa is a multi-talented Jesuit from Majorda, Goa, born on August 8, 1993. He is an elite alumnus of Loyola High School, Margao which has nurtured many Priests and Religious. After his 10th grade, he joined the pre-novitiate in Miramar and simultaneously completed his higher secondary education. He entered the Society of Jesus on June 20, 2011, and finished his novitiate and Juniorate studies at Xavier Training College, Desur, Belgaum, in 2013. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, English, and Journalism from St. Aloysius College, Mangalore, in 2017, followed by a Master’s in Philosophy from Loyola College, Chennai. Furthering his theological education, he completed a Bachelor’s in Sacred Theology and a Master’s in Divinity from the Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University, California, USA. Deacon Alendro Da Costa is set to be ordained to the priesthood on September 18, 2024, at the Basilica of Bom Jesus in Old Goa.
Dn. Alendro is known for his straightforward yet compassionate approach to others. He values discipline in personal development and punctuality. He is an excellent orator and has good command over the English language. He enjoys interacting with people of various faiths and cultures and is an avid sports enthusiast, particularly in football and table tennis.
Here is Dn. Alendro’s vision for St. Paul’s: “I hope to navigate the students through their different stages of development and use that insight to engage, mentor, and teach them. I aim to encourage healthy, fun competition, with the understanding that we are all learning to discuss, challenge, and grow together. I hope to see this school provide the freedom to try new things. Finally, let us all yearn to make this school a safe space to build confidence, concentration, and character.”
