St. Paul’s Jesuit School ICSE proudly marked a milestone with the inaugural IGNIS Inter-school Talent and Cultural Fest on November 17, 2023, welcoming Kindergarten and Primary Schools from Belagavi and surrounding areas. Under the theme, ‘Igniting Minds, Inspiring Souls,’ the event embodied a groundbreaking celebration of talent and unity in the region.
A remarkable response saw 13 schools registering, bringing together approximately 350 students to compete across a spectrum of competitions. From Singing to Group Dance, Fancy Dress to Colouring, the stage was set for a day of spirited performances and friendly rivalry. Renowned Ophthalmologist Dr. SmithaPrabhu graced the inaugural ceremony as Chief Guest, alongside esteemed guests including ICSE Headmistress, Jesuits of St. Paul’s Institution Management, educators, parents, and participants.
Dr. Smitha Prabhu’s address emphasized the importance of a healthy diet for optimal health and good eyesight, resonating deeply with the audience. The Valedictory session welcomed Mrs. Anita Rodricks, a beloved retired Headmistress and dedicated Social Worker, as Chief Guest, along with Ms. Mariamma Nyagam and the Jesuit Management Committee. Mrs. Anita’s reflections on her time at St. Paul’s underscored the significance of events like IGNIS in fostering friendships and exploring diverse talents.
The event also showcased the impressive talents of ICSE students, who captivated the audience with their speeches, singing, and dancing. K.L.S. English Medium School Belagavi clinched the overall IGNIS Championship, with Little Scholars Academy securing the Runner’s Up Trophy. This triumph of talent and unity exemplifies St. Paul’s commitment to holistic development and camaraderie among students and youth.
IGNIS has not only provided a platform for showcasing talent but has also created lasting memories and connections, nurturing a sense of pride and belonging among participants.
